February 13th Meeting
Our February meeting started by welcoming new member Karen.
Members with birthdays in February are Celia, Jean, Emily and Margaret will have birthdays before our next meeting. The raffle was won by Lyn. The first place in the Flower competition was Julie with Ann coming second. The competition for a Horsey item was won by Helen, with Julie coming second & Hilary in third place.. |
We have several members who have been with the WI for many years, at The Lincolnshire North Annual meeting held in Skegness on 27th March these members will be recognised as membership milestones they are Ann, Margaret, Maureen and Sally. The ladies will receive a certificate on the day.
We had a jacket potato supper with several fillings organised by the committee.
The evening ended with one of our own members Margaret Parker who had organised several quizzes for us, Pointless, Family Fortunes.
And a Horse racing game that had a very good Jockey wearing the green colours who pipped past the post a lot of times.

Finally, don't forget that our Jumble sale will be on
Saturday 13th April
at the village hall.

March 12th Meeting
At our meeting in March our speaker was Olivia Brown a Sports Therapist from Skegness.
Olivia explained how she is able to help people to recover from sports injuries by massage or exercise routines that can be adapted to each client individually. We were taken through some routine exercises as a group and then Olivia came to us all individually and gave us some homework to be continued at home.
I was enjoying the session so much I didn’t get round to taking any photos’s so we'll have to do it again next year !
Our usual business continued later with information about our upcoming Jumble Sale on the 13th April and our next meeting in April which is our Annual Meeting for members only to elect a new President and confirm the committee for the coming year.
Birthdays in March are Hilary, Jean, Margaret R, Emily and Maureen.
The Raffle was won by Helen.
The competition for a Sporty item was 1st Helen 2nd Julie with Sid coming in 3rd place.
The flower competition was 1st Sue 2nd Julie and Ann coming in 3rd place.
April 9th Meeting
Our meeting in April is our Annual meeting where we catch up on our yearly events and finances.
It’s also the time of year we elect our Committee and President for the coming year. 2 new ladies were elected to the committee, Lyn and Julie, and Helen was elected as President for the year.
Pauline has been President for the last 3 years and has now stepped down but continues to be a valued member.
Jenny gave a review of the next year’s program which will be coming on here soon.
14th May Meeting
Our May meeting was the start of our new programme for 2024/2025.
We'd like to thank Jenny who has worked well to fill our meetings with something to please everyone.

We started off with a 2nd visit from a Barber Shop Quartet the Peasants Revolt from Friskney.
We all thoroughly enjoyed singing along and doing some of the hand actions to go with the songs, but not always in the right time !
The raffle was won by Sid.
