11th June : Friskney Village Show
This year's Friskney Show was packed, no doubt helped along by a glorious sunny day, plus of course the show is free entry ! Our stall at the show was well organised and all of the items were sold out. It was one of the best results we've had in a long time. Well done to our ladies who looked after the stall on a beautiful sunny day and to everyone who came along to support us. Here’s to next year and I’m sure Pauline is already thinking of ideas for it ! |
8th August : Picnic in the Fields !
On Tuesday afternoon several of us got together for a chat on the playing fields.
We don’t normally have a meeting in August so we decided to have a picnic outside and make the most of the lovely sunshine, and yes the sun did shine for us.
Thank you to Jenny for the lovely biscuits.

21st October : Autumn Jumble Sale
4th November : Friskney WI Bingo
Our bingo for this year was a great success, so thanks to our volunteers who helped with preparation and running the event on the night.
We had lots of people through the doors by 6.15 waiting to buy refreshments before starting to play bingo. We definitely had a full house of players, we nearly had a sell out of food before play began with mainly cakes left for the interval. The Prizes were well thought out and displayed by Sid with many donated by our own members so a big Thank You for that. We'd also like to thank Pete & Sue for their help on the night and opening the bar between bingo sessions. |
All in all it was a very enjoyable evening with lots of happy people winning the prizes.
November : Christmas Craft Fayre, Friskney Village Hall
We had a lovely day at the Friskney Christmas Craft Fayre in November. Pauline spent lots of time in her kitchen beforehand baking, Quiche’s, Fruit Pies, Sausage Rolls. Cheese & Fruit Scones, Cakes as well as some home made Jams, and all of it sold out. Margaret also baked some lovely cakes for us as well. Thank you to both for supporting us before and during the day. |
We had a "What’s my name Dog” competition to win one of the plush dogs if you guessed the name right, the dog was yours.
The names were Baxter and Betty and both dogs have new homes in Friskney.

5th December : Christmas Lunch at The Old Chequers Inn
|
18 of us met at the Old Chequers Inn Croft for our Christmas Lunch, we had an excellent Carvery which we could choose from along with starters and desserts. All of us came away feeling very full after such a delicious meal. The room we were in had been beautifully decorated for Christmas and it was nice and warm. It was lovely to get together and have a natter. The slideshow is only a few of the photos we took on the day, you can see & download them all from our Photographs Page. Lorraine and her staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. They prepared a special vegan meal for one our ladies which was very much appreciated and offered to do a take away meal for Jackie, one of our members who had fallen and broken her shoulder so wasn’t able to come to the meal. Thanks again to Lorraine and her staff who made the day so special. |
