2nd December 2014 - Christmas Meal at The Caxton House Hotel, Skegness 17 members enjoyed our annual Christmas meal at the Caxton this year. We were greeted with a hot fruit punch and sat down for a chat before we were treated to a wonderful 3 course lunch. A vote of thanks was given by Liz to owners Wendy and Paul, and also Hannah for her table service. All the ladies said they enjoyed the meal, in fact this was the third time this year for Margaret R (or is it the 5th or 6th ?) http://www.caxton-house.com/index.html |

4th December 2014 - A Visit to WI House in Horncastle
A group of seven Friskney ladies paid a visit to the new LNWI House in Horncastle. Very bright and spacious, we were all impressed with the new base, complete with its own car park and easy access, being all on one level. There is still much to do, but it is certainly a very good space for groups and clubs to use and is a much better space than the previous HQ in Louth. We saw the display of brick-sized tapestries/stitched works of art, one designed by and representing each WI group in the Lincolnshire North area. It is an amazing display. LNWI have asked all the WIs to create a new piece of work for 2015, for the Centennial celebrations. Margaret Rushworth and Pauline Kirkham are creating a new 'brick' to represent Friskney WI in 2015. |
Here are just a few of the ones created in 1988 and which are on permanent display in the Horncastle Headquarters.
