May 14th 2013 Meeting
Friskney WI welcomed our guest, David Willey from Lincolnshire Aviation Centre. He gave us a talk about the Lancaster Bomber and showed video clips from the Aviation Centre, including one of 'Just Jane'.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening; the male of the species (ie several WI members' husbands!) were invited to join us for the talk, and could be seen in conversation with David long after his talk ended (technical engine issues being discussed, no doubt!)
The members and gents present, expressed a wish to visit the Aviation Centre. Margaret is looking into arranging a visit for the summer of 2014. Other local WI groups may well be interested in joining us(?)
In keeping with the theme of the presentation, members were asked to bring along a photograph or model of an aeroplane for our monthly competition.

August 13th 2013 Meeting
Angela Smith was our guest speaker and gave us all an insight into the History of Hedgehogs, a talk that we all enjoyed. Angela's enthusiasm for hedgehogs and their welfare was clear to see and we all learned a lot about caring for hedgehogs. Frances MacDonald provided the Table Flowers for this meeting and is shown here with her charming arrangement for the committee table. |
