Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary
During 2013, Friskney WI members raised £133.50 for the Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary in Friskney.
The cash was raised by holding a charity auction evening, which will go towards the upkeep of the sanctuary.
“The manager of the sanctuary, Mick Fern, was very pleased to receive the donation,” said a spokesperson for the WI.“We were also given a tour of the sanctuary and it wasn’t hard to fall in love with the greyhounds in there!”
Sally Hall, President of Friskney WI presented the cheque to Manager Mick Fern, Kennel Assistant Debbie Perham and volunteer helper Hilary Jarvis (also a member of Friskney WI)

Friskney WI 95th Birthday Party
10th December 2013 saw Friskney WI ladies celebrating their 95th birthday.
Exactly 95 years to the day, in fact: the first WI meeting took place on 10th December 1918.
Tonight, we celebrated in the village hall and were joined by representatives of all the surrounding WIs. Members were entertained by the 'Cover Girls' singing duo, performing songs from the 50s to the 70s, as well as Christmas songs.
